If you’re looking for a place to spend your weekend night, Medellin is the place to go. It’s got everything from museums and parks to clubs, bars and restaurants.
Here are some of my favorite activities in town:
Bar in a club.
You can have a great time at the bar in a club. The best way to enjoy it is by enjoying drinks and dancing with friends or coworkers, or even just having fun with strangers who you met on the street!
Playbill Medellin.
The entertainment here is very much geared toward a younger crowd—there are plenty of activities for kids (and parents) like face painting and balloon animals! And since this place is located near Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNSAM), there are many students who come here after classes end at night to unwind in its cozy atmosphere while listening to some music or playing pool themselves.
Playbill Medellin is open daily from 10 am until 2 am (12 pm to 1 am on Sunday).
Cost: $3 USD for an entrance fee and drinks at the bar. You can purchase food from vendors outside as well if you want something more substantial than just a snack or drink.
Peteco Pub.
This is the perfect place to have a drink with friends and enjoy the view of Medellin. The bar offers a wide selection of drinks, including tequila and other types of liquor. There is also food available at this location.
The restaurant has large windows that provide a great view of downtown Medellin, so you can watch people walking around while enjoying your meal or drink in peace. It’s located on Avenida 72 in El Poblado neighborhood which gives it easy access from both main roads (Avenida 70) and narrow streets such as Calle 15 (Calle 19).
The Box Office.
The Box Office is a great place to go for live music, dancing and drinks. It’s located near the Parque Lleras.
The Box Office has been around since the 1980s and offers an intimate setting for good times with friends or family. The restaurant features a large main room that can accommodate up to 150 people at one time, along with smaller rooms where you can enjoy your meals in privacy or socialize with others around you.
You’ll find something here for everyone: from families with children who want some outdoor fun before dinner; couples looking for quality time together over dinner; groups of friends who want some quiet time away from home; even singles looking for an evening out alone but still enjoying themselves!
Casa del Habano Medellin.
If you’re looking for a cigar store, Casa del Habano is the place to go. Casas del Habano are cigar stores that sell premium cigars and also serve as a place to smoke them. They can be found all over the world and have been around since 1959 in Medellin, where they have several locations within walking distance of Parque Lleras.
Casa del Habana Medellin is located on Cota Street near Avenida Cordova which runs through downtown Medellín with easy access from anywhere in town by bus or taxi (or even Uber).
Biergarten Medellin.
Biergarten Medellin is the perfect place for a night out in Medellin. Located on Avenida Santander, this bar and bistro serves up delicious food, craft beers and cocktails in an elegant atmosphere. The menu features classic German fare like pretzels with mustard or spicy sausages with fries. You can also order small plates like goulash soup or sauerkraut-topped meatballs if you’re looking for something lighter than your typical German meal!
Biergarten Medellin is open daily from 11am until 2am (11pm on weekends).
Tia Maria’s Restaurant & Bar.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Old Town. It has a nice ambiance, with white walls and dark wood tables. The waiters are very attentive, and you can order an array of drinks from their extensive menu. The specialty drinks include mojitos and margaritas (both made with fresh fruit), as well as sangria or rum & Coke for those who prefer something lighter. If you’re looking for something more authentic Colombian food, try chicha morada: purple corn juice infused with herbs and spices!
Nighlife in Medellin
If you’re looking for a night out in Medellin, there are plenty of options. The city has a thriving nightlife scene and many bars, clubs and pubs are open until 5 am.
You can take your pick from the best bars and clubs in town—from upscale lounges to divey joints with cheap drinks or DJs spinning tunes on weekends. If live music is what you’re after, Medellin has some fantastic places where you can get down on any given night of the week (and if it isn’t then there’s always going back home).
Conclusion
There are so many incredible things to do in the city that it might be tough to pick just one. It’s up to you what you want to do and when, but we hope this list has given you some ideas on where to start! There are plenty of bars, clubs, and restaurants that offer live music or dance floors every night of the week. If your favorite kind of music is hip-hop or Latin jazz, check out our guide on places where these genres are played live in Medellin. We also have a list of restaurants that serve great food at reasonable prices—and some less traditional favorites if those aren’t quite up your alley yet either!
